Why do you emphasize legal compliance and user consent so strongly?

FAQ: Why do you emphasize legal compliance and user consent so strongly?

Q: I already take responsibility for installing the app on my own device. Why does the app still require me to agree that I will use the app in compliance with the law?

A: We are committed to being a legitimate parental control and family safety application — not spyware. We want to make this distinction very clear.

Spyware is defined as software that secretly collects data without the device owner's knowledge or consent. We have never promoted ourselves as spyware, and we have no intention (past or future) of doing so. Unlike spyware, the app includes built-in transparency features such as summary notifications to inform the user that data collection has taken place.

As a result, we require all users to acknowledge and agree to use the app responsibly and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. This protects not only our users but also ensures that we cannot be misused or misrepresented as spyware. Our role is to provide tools for parental guidance and family protection, not to facilitate illegal surveillance.

In short, we want to support parents and families — but we must also make it clear that the app must only be used lawfully. By requiring user consent, we draw a clear line between the app (a parental control app) and spyware.

When using the app, we require users to explicitly confirm two things before installing the app:

  1. Whose device is this?

    • Mine: You may install the app on your own personal device for testing or self-monitoring purposes.

    • Child’s device: You may install the app on your child’s device, but only with their knowledge and awareness that the app is being used for parental guidance. This ensures transparency within the family.

    • Employee’s device: If the device belongs to your company and is assigned to an employee, you must ensure the employee has been informed about the installation. This is essential for respecting workplace rights and privacy regulations.

  2. What is the purpose of this installation?

    • Testing / Trial: You are simply evaluating how the app works on your own device.

    • Parental Control: You are monitoring your child’s activities responsibly, with the child being aware of the app’s presence.

    • Workplace Monitoring: You manage company-owned devices used by employees in compliance with labor laws and internal policies.

By requiring these two confirmations, we make it clear that the app must never be used secretly or unlawfully. This protects both you, as a user, and us, as a provider, and reinforces that the app is a parental control and device management tool, not spyware.
